Mr. Smith "Knight Without a Sword"

A moving film that extols one of the fundamental values in life, honesty first with oneself and second with those around us, the character, Jefferson Smith, extols and magnifies that virtue that many boast and that Few profess and less so in the environment where the film is going to take place, where competition, power struggles and the oppression of the most disadvantaged are combined with excessive greed.

Mr. Smith embodies that person whom we would all like to meet and with whom we would always be comfortable, good, loyal, kind and sincere, that sincerity that makes one transparent without any mask that hides what he is feeling and that perhaps Confused with his appearance, we think that he is fragile and we pretend, like the protagonist, to protect him from the evil of the world that we believe surrounds us, but that his appearance does not deceive us, it is precisely that vulnerability that makes him great, that character, that knight without a sword, that Don Quixote of this time, is not weak but quite the opposite, he possesses unimaginable power and strength, that of one who is in the most absolute possession of the truth, honesty and integrity of the human being.

I would have been about 11 or 12 years old when I saw this magnificent film directed by Frank Capra for the first time and it has probably been the film that most positively marked my vocation and the one that I am inclined to study for my university career, in that eagerness to seek justice from the honesty and trustworthiness and the one that marked those values as fundamental in my life, being the pillars that would mark my existence in this world. I hope that it serves as an inspiration for many other people who vibrate with the energy and strength of the protagonist who find their values, because these will be the guide, the compass that will point out the path to follow and that they do not lose sight of them, because these will be the that will tell them whether or not the decision to be taken or the path to follow is correct or not, and as long as it is not in line with those values, let us not doubt that the path will not be the correct one and in time we will have to regret it. Like this Don Quixote without a sword, let us fight for our values, which will be what make us free.
